The Gemmological Institute of India, a recognised SIRO laboratory and a key organisation in the gems and jewellery industry, required a new website that could present its wide range of testing, training, and certification services in a clear format. Their existing website had grown over several years and lacked a consistent structure, which made it hard for visitors to find essential information. Aarav Infotech was commissioned to develop a WordPress based website with up to 39 pages that would organise content, simplify navigation, and support the institute’s communication needs.
GII’s previous website presented large volumes of technical information, but it did so in a scattered manner that affected readability and user flow. Stakeholders highlighted issues such as inconsistent page layouts, outdated design patterns, and difficulty in presenting laboratory processes to students and industry professionals. These gaps reduced enquiry submissions and increased time spent searching for documents. The institute needed a structured content architecture that aligned with how users typically explore laboratory and training information.
Key issues included:
Aarav Infotech developed the new site on WordPress using the WP Business Plus theme, configuring a 39 page structure that grouped services, training programs, and institute details in organised clusters. We created a navigation system that sorted information by service category, added enquiry touchpoints throughout the site, and streamlined page templates to maintain uniformity. Our team worked with GII’s internal team to finalise content placement, manage document heavy pages, and ensure that essential information could be accessed within two clicks. The entire project was delivered within the planned timeline, supported by milestone based reviews.
Solution highlights:
The redesigned GII website demonstrated immediate improvements in usability and content organisation. User testing showed that visitors reached high priority pages in 42 percent fewer steps compared to the previous structure. Enquiry form submissions for training and certification services increased within the first quarter. Internal teams also reported a significant drop in support calls related to website navigation.
Measured outcomes:
The project was built on WordPress with a custom configured WP Business Plus layout. We used standard WordPress blocks for content management, integrated PDF handling tools, and implemented lightweight plugins for forms and security. The website was hosted on a reliable Linux based environment with SSL enabled. The content structure was built using nested menus, custom post types were used where needed, and page templates were optimised for consistent layouts and faster loading.
Technical elements:
The project delivered a clear and structured WordPress website that improved GII’s communication and enquiry flow.
