Three costs, one honest number
No scan, no guesswork about your stack. Downtime costs three things, and the calculator prices each one from what you tell it, then rounds the total so it never pretends to be more precise than it is.
Revenue lost while the site is down
Your annual revenue divided by the hours your business earns in a year gives revenue per hour. A 60-hour week is 3,120 hours. Sites that sell round the clock use 168 hours a week. That per-hour figure times the hours down, times the share of revenue that touches the website.
Customers who do not come back
Not every lost sale is time-shifted to tomorrow. Surveys of online shoppers consistently find a large share leave for a competitor after hitting an outage, so we add 30% of the lost revenue as customers who never return. Deliberately conservative.
The emergency fix
Every outage needs someone to find and fix the cause. We count 4 hours of emergency work per incident at ₹3,440 or $40 an hour, the same rate shown on our pricing page. Unmonitored shared hosting typically sees two to three incidents a year.
direct_loss = hourly_revenue × downtime_hours × website_dependency
lost_customers = direct_loss × 0.3
recovery_cost = incidents × 4 hrs × emergency_rate
downtime_risk = direct_loss + lost_customers + recovery_cost // rounded to the nearest ₹1,000 or $50
Four things that cut downtime the most
Every website maintenance plan includes all four. The calculator compares your number with the plan that fits your revenue band.
Uptime monitoring
We find out your site is down before your customers do, and act on it.
Daily backups
Restorable copies, tested, so a bad update is a rollback, not a rebuild.
Security and SSL
Malware scans, firewall, and certificate renewals handled before they expire.
Updates and performance
Core, plugin and theme updates applied safely, with speed checks after.
Questions people ask before they run it
We divide your annual revenue by your yearly business hours to get revenue per hour, then multiply by the downtime hours you expect and the share of revenue that depends on the website. The result is rounded so it reads as a directional estimate, not an audit.
The number is computed in your browser. If you unlock the report, your email and the inputs you chose are stored with your enquiry so our team can reference them if you ask for help. We never sell or share them.
The one that fits your revenue band: Starter for smaller businesses, Standard for the ₹1 to 5 Cr range, and Grow above that. Every plan includes monitoring, backups, security and performance work, which are the four things that cut downtime the most. The price shown is live from our pricing page.
Most sites on shared hosting with nobody watching them see 4 to 12 hours a year. If your site has broken after an update or plugin change in the last year, pick 12 to 24. If you have never checked, pick 24 or more and treat the result as a ceiling.
